How is our pepper different from supermarket pepper?
Black pepper is a commodity you can find in almost every store in the spice rack. While every ball and every crushed fragment is seemingly the same product, some black peppercorns couldn't be more different. The difference is in the price, the taste, but also the impact of its cultivation on our environment and the farmers who grew it.
Peppers without a trademark do not have an easy fate
If we were to do a chemical analysis of the contents of the bags of pepper sold by the traditional multinationals, we would find that, apart from pepper, they contain other substances that have nothing to do with the natural growth process of pepper. These substances, often only in trace amounts, are a throwback to the chemistry with which pepper plants have been treated and to the artificial fertilisers with which the plants are kept alive in already completely depleted soil.
The mass production of pepper, not only devastates the soil in an enormous way, but it also places extraordinary demands on water resources and puts a strain on the environment of the entire locality. In addition, such pepper is bought up at below cost and is constantly moved around markets where it is sold off in tonnes to more and more sellers, increasing its price and reducing its already poor taste over time, which is usually at least several months.
Kampot pepper guarantees the highest possible quality
The contents of a single bag of pepper bought in a supermarket thus have a journey full of pesticides, emissions and unfair commercial practices. Of course, there is another way of growing and distributing pepper, a more ethical and positive way, which also applies to our pepper, the genuine Kampot pepper from .pepper..field. It is unique not only in the area in which it is grown, but above all in the attitude of the farmers and the way it reaches your hands.
No pesticides, no artificial fertilizers, just the natural process by which pepper plants have been cultivated for thousands of years. The Kampot farmers are true to the cultivation practices of their ancestors, thanks to which they are able to grow peppercorns with a unique taste.
We discovered this during our travels in Cambodia, and just as we purchased our first pepper for our personal consumption directly from the farmers years ago, today we purchase pepper directly for you in this way. Personal selection of the best beans and direct support of the farmers are the cornerstones of our entire project to bring the pepper sought after by the best chefs in the world to the Czech Republic. Each precious little bag you hold in your hand is freshly packed that same month and brought directly from the farmer to our home without any middleman. Because that's the way that makes sense and that we enjoy - honest and direct!

"First time I tasted Kampot pepper on our vacation in Cambodia, it was phenomenal! I am ordering the Kampot pepper from Amazon ever since. Now when I have an option to order from the smallest farmers, I can have great feeling whenever I open the pack as a bonus to the best taste."

"Got the pepper, it is very unique. I found it had more flavor and the aroma was wonderful. The pepper came in a small well sealed package. The ground pepper was a little spicier than regular black pepper, but not too spicy. I think it was most likely just fresher and delivered in better condition."
