40 g of a unique selection of the finest fermented Kampot peppercorns combined with Kampot salt flower. This kind of very fine fresh Kampot pepper is packed directly in Cambodia in vacuum-packed recyclable packaging and sent home to you in a sustainable envelope made from used coffee cups.

With its unique aroma and consistency, the fermented pepper is perfect for meat, sauces or pesto. However, you can add it to any dish as a finishing touch as it is not as strong as our freeze-dried Kampot pepper or green pickled pepper. This pepper does not belong in the grinder. Minimum shelf life is up to one year. Once opened, refrigerate and use within 3 months.

Description

Like any other association, the KPPA (Kampot Pepper Promotion Association) is led by a president. In an exclusive collaboration with him and his family, we have prepared a fermented pepper called ‘President Edition’. To select the best Kampot pepper, we have added a pinch of real salt flower hand-picked in Kampot's salinas.

The result is a soft and velvety pepper that doesn't lack the appropriate freshness and slight pungency. The green pepper is harvested and fermented with salt using an ancient Japanese method in Cambodia immediately after being plucked from the pepper plant. As a result, this pepper offers a unique aroma that can be enjoyed immediately after opening. The difference between classic dried and fresh pepper is immediately apparent.

A perfectly harmonious flavour dance of pepper and salt plays out in your mouth. The flavour and aroma of fermented pepper is subtle and gradually develops into a full peppery flavour accompanied by aromas of flowers, citrus and conifer. Add it to mild sauces and create a masterpiece that will be applauded by everyone you treat.

Outside of sauces, fermented green pepper is also great with steaks and other dark meats. It's a perfect seasoning for fish, but also for pasta. Try adding it to salads or flavour any of your favourite dishes with it. You will see that you will always be pleasantly surprised. The minimum shelf life of fermented pepper is one year. Store the opened product in a cool place and use within 3 months. This pepper does not need to be crushed in any way, and if you do want to break the top skin, use a mortar and pestle.

We pack the fermented pepper in sustainable packaging right in Cambodia, and send it to your home in a unique envelope made from Extract paper. This is an eco-friendly paper made from used coffee cups, of which five of them are enough to make one sheet of this paper. This way, you can enjoy the unique taste of pepper that Kampot's nature gives us without any qualms.
